Arcana means secrets, and these Arcana Chronicles vignettes from #1 New York Times bestseller Kresley Cole are filled with them. Experience firsthand the beginning of the end and behold the apocalypse through the eyes of characters you only thought you knew.

Ashes to ashes . . .
Evie Greene’s story of the Flash is just one of many. All over the world, those connected in some way to the lethal Arcana game–like Death, Jack, and Fortune–must first survive a horrifying night of blood and screams.

We all fall down.
Some will have to grapple with new powers; all will be damned to a hellish new existence of plague, brutality, desolation, and cannibalism. Find out who they lost, why they endure, and what they sacrificed in order to live past Day Zero. . . .

Why am I waiting on it?

Pretty much because I adore Kresley Cole’s books! I read the first three books in the Arcana Chronicles and enjoyed them. I think they are a little bit over sexed for supposed YA books, but since Kresley is really an adult romance and erotica author, this isn’t really surprising. You can take the girl out of romance but you can’t take the romance out of the girl, eh? lol! Nevertheless the books are well written and involve intriguingly mysterious characters, plenty of action, and plenty of brooding attractive males. The female characters are charmingly kick-ass, which is always a positive thing. Especially since we have to deal with the before mentioned moody and brooding males.

My favorite thing about this series? We meet two of the characters before the end of the world and get to see how they change throughout the trauma and stress of the apocalyptic event. Its cool to see a southern bell have to learn how to survive and get vicious.
